quinto periodo legislativo de la Asamblea Nacional<\/a><\/b>, que estar\u00e1 en funciones hasta 2029.<\/p>\nOlsen, de 37 a\u00f1os,\u00a0es licenciado en administraci\u00f3n de negocios<\/b>\u00a0y marketing por la Universidad Estatal de Louisiana-Baton Rouge de Estados Unidos y\u00a0tiene una maestr\u00eda de turismo sostenible\u00a0<\/b>en la Universidad Monash de Australia.<\/p>\n
Es due\u00f1o de la Hacienda La Danesa, ubicada en la v\u00eda Naranjito-Bucay- en la provincia de Guayas. Aquella propiedad, un famoso sitio de hospedaje,\u00a0ha pertenecido a su familia por tres generaciones, desde hace m\u00e1s de 50 a\u00f1os<\/b>.<\/p>\n\n
Olsen empez\u00f3 su carrera pol\u00edtica en 2021 como ministro de Turismo del gobierno de Guillermo Lasso.\u00a0Dur\u00f3 en ese cargo todo su mandato, que acab\u00f3 de manera anticipada por la muerte cruzada<\/b>, y fue ratificado en la misma cartera de Estado por Daniel Noboa en noviembre de 2023.<\/p>\n
En esa etapa,\u00a0destac\u00f3 la firma de varios acuerdos denominados \u00abCielos Abiertos\u00bb<\/b>\u00a0con el que se redujo las tasas para las aerol\u00edneas que operen en Ecuador e impuls\u00f3 la Visa N\u00f3mada, la cual permite a extranjeros vivir dos a\u00f1os en el pa\u00eds mientras trabajen de manera remota.<\/p>\n
Adem\u00e1s,\u00a0particip\u00f3 en la renovaci\u00f3n de la Marca Pa\u00eds de Ecuador\u00a0<\/b>y fue parte de dos ediciones de la Feria Internacional de Turisimo (Fitur) en Madrid, consiguiendo en 2024 el premio del Mejor Stand. Asimismo,\u00a0fue vocero de la Ley Econ\u00f3mica Urgente de Turismo, que fue aprobada por la Asamblea Nacional<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Su etapa como ministro de Turismo acab\u00f3 el 30 de agosto de 2024, pues deb\u00eda estar libre de cargos pol\u00edticos para inscribirse como candidato al Legislativo. Fue el segundo en la lista nacional de ADN.<\/p>\n
Olsen ser\u00e1 presidente de la Asamblea por dos a\u00f1os, que es el tiempo que duran todas las autoridades del Legislativo, aunque pueden ser reelegidos hasta completar el periodo de cuatro a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Con esta designaci\u00f3n, Niels Olsen se convirti\u00f3 en el d\u00e9cimo presidente de la historia de la Asamblea Nacional,\u00a0instituci\u00f3n que comanda la Funci\u00f3n Legislativa desde 2008<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Adem\u00e1s, es el segundo presidente m\u00e1s joven del Legislativo, siendo menor a Viviana Veloz, que asumi\u00f3 este cargo en octubre de 2024 con 39 a\u00f1os, pero mayor a Gabriela Rivadeneira,\u00a0quien fue la autoridad de la Asamblea Nacional en 2013 a los 29 a\u00f1os.<\/b><\/p>\n
Con la elecci\u00f3n de Olsen en el Parlamento, el poder Ejecutivo y Legislativo vuelven a estar representados por un mismo movimiento pol\u00edtico<\/b>, cuesti\u00f3n que no ocurr\u00eda desde 2021, con C\u00e9sar Litardo en la Asamblea y Len\u00edn Moreno en el Palacio de Carondelet.<\/p>\n
En la presidencia de Guillermo Lasso, Guadalupe Llori (Pachakutik) y Virgilio Saquicela (Independiente) estuvieron al frente de la Asamblea Nacional, mientras que en el periodo que complet\u00f3 Daniel Noboa estuvieron el socialcristiano Henry Kronfle y la corre\u00edsta Viviana Veloz.<\/p>\n
